On Wednesday 2nd October, Nadiya Donovan, 39 who works at the design consultancy Wave in the Creative Media Centre in Hastings will sparkle on the catwalk at the Breast Cancer Care annual London fashion show. Alongside 23 other inspiring men and women she will prove that it is possible to regain your confidence and look glamorous after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Breast Cancer Care Chief Executive, Samia al Qadhi said: “We are all extremely excited to see our inspiring models take to the catwalk in front of their friends and families to celebrate life after a breast cancer diagnosis. It’s a wonderful event and a lovely opportunity for our models to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience while raising money to help others affected by breast cancer.”
Nadiya decided to take part in The Show because she was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago and recently lost her mum to ovarian cancer. Nadiya’s mum who also lived in Hastings did the show in 2006 and it is in her memory that Nadiya is now doing the show.
The star-studded event at Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel is a diary must for fashion fans, a great opportunity to treat someone special or just a good excuse for a wonderful night out! Denise Lewis will be hosting the evening show and Edith Bowman will be hosting the afternoon show.
The models will wear a fabulous range of designer clothing from fashion’s elite including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, as well as high street outfits. They will be styled by fashion correspondent, Hilary Alexander, alongside London Fashion Week coordinator, Lesley Goring.
