Christmas may seem like weeks away but with the days and months flying past it won’t be long before we are all hanging up our Christmas Stockings, drinking mulled wine and singing Christmas carols so we thought we’d look in to seeing what’s happening in Hastings at Christmas.
Hastings started the big build up to Christmas this year on the 2oth November 2014. The traditional Christmas Lights were switched on by some of the cast of this years pantomime Aladdin. This was followed by a fantastic firework display.
If the kids have behaved this year and you want to treat them, then why not take them to visit Father Christmas in one of his Grottos. Santa’s Grotto at Priory Meadow opens on the 27th November. Father Christmas and his friends will be taking to the ice rink for a magical evening before opening his grotto. Tickets can be bought in advance from the Customer Service Desk in the Mall.
Santa will also be paying a visit to the Blue Reef Aquarium in the Old Town on 30th November in his special sea-themed grotto where youngsters will receive a special gift. For more information on visiting Seaside Santa and too book online go to www.seasidesanta.co.uk
This year will also see the return of the hugely popular ice-rink so why not get your skates on and pop down to Priory Meadow. The rink will be running from 30th November – 6th January.
If a day In the Old Town sounds appealing then why not pay a visit on Saturday 6th December to ‘Once Upon an Old Town Christmas’ and take a stroll through the Christmas Market in Courthouse Street. There will also be games for the children in the High Street, a craft fair in All Saints Hall and a Twelve Days of Christmas Shopping Trail in the Old Town. Choirs, carols and drumming and lots more activities to get everyone into the Christmas Spirit.
Finally to round all the Christmas cheer off why not pop along to the Hastings White Rock Theatre. This year’s pantomime’s starring role will be the outrageously fabulous Louie Spence. You can rest assure that not only will your children enjoy this but you will be singing along and shouting out ‘he’s behind you’. Tickets are now on sale and selling fast.
