It has just been announced that the opening of Hastings Pier has been delayed until March 2016.
Storms in February mean that the opening has had to be pushed back. The re-opening will now coincide with the 95oth anniversary of the Battle of Hastings.
More than £14m were spent on improving the pier, with more than 3000 people working on the coastal landmark and the help of £11.4m from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Much of the existing pier is being recycled or reused, and plans for the redeveloped structure include funfair’s, a circus, an open-air cinema and a mirrored heritage centre to reflect the seaside views.
People will get the chance to go the pier well before next March, as Christmas pop-up attractions are planned, including a Christmas fair and possibly a skating rink.
