Jay Hancock started her apprenticeship qualification in Advanced Business and Administration in November 2011, and is due to complete in November 2013.
Jay has secured a role as Training Administrator at the Let’s Do Business group whilst studying for the qualification through the apprenticeship scheme at Sussex Coast College Hastings.
Jay was an Advanced Apprentice with Hastings Trust on a training programme funded by Sussex Coast College Hastings. The training provided, gave Jay a detailed understanding of the apprenticeship training process and the confidence to take on the new challenge.
Stephen King, Training and Skills Manager at Let’s Do Business commented ‘The Let’s Do Business Group are very proud to be able to offer Jay Hancock a full-time role as the business and opportunities continue to grow.’
Tim Scott, Head of Business Development congratulated Jay on her success to date. Tim added ‘our partnership with local employers is essential to help improve employability of our young people. We are focused on working with local partners to give other students, like Jay, the opportunity to develop in line with the needs of the business and community around Hastings.’
Jay said ‘It is great to use the skills I have developed on my training programme to good effect. I am able to talk confidently to potential apprentices and explain in detail what an apprenticeship really means. To me there was no better way to learn by doing and getting paid to learn was a real bonus.’
