UKTI and partner organisations are travelling across England to raise awareness of procurement opportunities from large-scale global scientific infrastructure projects. This series of four one-day events will give you access to all the necessary understanding and expertise to do business with these projects.
During the Big Science Roadshow, The Science and Technology Facilities Council, the Electronics Sensors and Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network (ESP KTN) and the UK Atomic Energy Authority will present the opportunities available at:
- The Large Hadron Collider at CERN
ITER, a fusion project which aims to demonstrate that it is possible to produce commercial energy from fusion
- ELI, the extreme light infrastructure
- SKA, the square kilometre array
- E-ELT, the extremely large telescope
It is estimated that the combined procurement budgets for these facilities over the lifetime of the various projects is upwards of £20 billion.
Further more, you have the opportunity to have individual meetings with representatives from above organisations. You will be given advice on bidding to the facilities as well as working in the various countries the facilities are based.
A networking lunch is included at the Big Science Roadshow and you will be able to share best practice with companies in your field.
