Aldi is creeping up behind the big supermarkets by sharing plans to open 130 new stores as part of a £600 million UK expansion.

The discount supermarket plans to hire 8,000 more staff, increasing its UK workforce to 35,000 by 2022.

It is gradually earning more of the UK market share and in April, overtook Waitrose as the UK’s sixth-biggest supermarket. Aldi now has 5.3% of the market share.

Having started up in Manchester in 2006, BR Web Consulting Ltd relocated to Hastings in January 2011. They quickly discovered that the Creative Media Centre would be the perfect place to grow our business. In the two years that they have been based at the Creative Media Centre their business has gone from strength to strength from having a total of zero staff to now employing four local talented people.

BR Web moved from Manchester to Hastings back in 2006 and have expanded rapidly during that time.

Being based in Hastings has many advantages, most importantly the the rail and road links to and from London which has allowed them to expand our client base there and now forms 10% of their clientbase. BR Web has also greatly expanded our international clientbase with cleints from all across the globe. We were recently asked to create a website for a member of the Bahrain Royal Family, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa who was standing for President of the Asia Football Confederation. He was successfully elected after a strong campaign via the website & social media presence we created.

At the start of 2013, they acquired London based Web One Hundred Ltd and decided to move all operations into Hastings and form a Head Office. This proved to be a worthwhile decision and since 98% of the client base is based in and around the South East it provided many with easy access for the majority of their clients who otherwise would of had to commute into central London.

BR Web are among a number of companies who truly believe that Hastings is on the up and this has given them the bug for expansion with plans to double the number of local people they employ from four to eight in the next year.
