Hot on the heels of the Snapchat hack and subsequent leak of millions of users images that made the news last week, it seems that nothing is truly safe and its becoming more common where a week doesn’t go by where another much used and secure service gets hacked leading to headaches (or worse) for many who use the services.
This week its looked like it was Dropbox’s turn which is used by businesses of all sizes.
The cloud storage and document sharing provider had been rumoured to have had seven million user names and passwords stolen which are being offered for sale (naturally via the untraceable BitCoin currency)
The good news is Dropbox themselves have responded quite quickly on their blog by saying that its not been hacked and the list isn’t theirs which they have said they’ve verified.
It might however, be a good idea to change passwords and enable two-step verification as soon as possible just to be on the safe side.
